That is the idea behind the new summer quiz series launched by ARISE. Designed for a general audience, the series explores Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Extended Reality, and related digital skills through accessible, curiosity-driven questions that encourage people to learn more about the technologies shaping today’s digital world.
The first quiz asks participants to identify an example of Augmented Reality (AR). While many people associate XR with virtual reality headsets or gaming, the question highlights that immersive technologies are also present in familiar, everyday experiences. The goal is not to test specialist knowledge, but to encourage people to think about where these technologies appear and how they are used.
Throughout the summer, the quiz series will cover topics including Human–Computer Interaction, user experience, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), accessibility and inclusive design, Artificial Intelligence in interactive systems, the ethical and responsible use of XR technologies, and the growing importance of digital skills across Europe.
Each question is accompanied by an explanation and additional learning resources, allowing participants to explore the topic further after answering. The complete set of answers will also be published in a special edition of the ARISE Digital Pulse newsletter at the end of the series.
