🔐 RSA Conference 2025 – Insights for SPECTRO

On April 30th, Chris Haberl, PhD, and Nektar Baziotis represented the SPECTRO project led by EIT Digital at the prestigious RSA Conference 2025 (www.rsaconference.com) in San Francisco – a global hub where cybersecurity leaders, innovators, and researchers converge to shape the future of digital security.

A big thank you to Daniella Alpher, Cryptic Brand and Growth Strategist at LatticaAI, who invited us to the expo and is leading the way in privacy-preserving machine learning inference in the cloud.

We were also thrilled to reconnect with Rony Ohayon (CEO), Guy Sheenan (Chief Business Officer), and Yossi Altevet (CTO) from DeepKeep, who are delivering groundbreaking AI-Native Security solutions for GenAI.

Looking forward to seeing you all again in Israel this June!

🎯 What RSA 2025 was all about:

Over 600 sessions, panels, and keynotes focused on the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, identity protection, and global resilience. From “policy to product,” RSA showcased how emerging technologies are reshaping both attacks and defenses in cyberspace.

💡 Key takeaways from RSA 2025 — and how the SPECTRO project is already responding:

1️⃣ 🤖AI is both a threat and a tool

“Agentic AI” – autonomous systems operating without human oversight – are redefining how we think about cyber threats and defense mechanisms.

SPECTRO integrates AI literacy, ethics, and cybersecurity into all microcredential pathways. By equipping learners to critically engage with autonomous systems, we are preparing a workforce that can both harness and safeguard AI technologies.

2️⃣ Identity is the new perimeter

As networks grow more decentralized, identity access and authentication become critical. Traditional firewalls are no longer sufficient.

The SPECTRO curriculum includes identity protection, zero-trust architecture, and privacy-by-design principles. These topics prepare learners to build resilient infrastructures and respond to real-world authentication challenges.

3️⃣ 🤝The future is collaborative

Public-private partnerships, interdisciplinary upskilling, and global knowledge-sharing were emphasized as non-negotiable for long-term cybersecurity.

SPECTRO connects academia, industry, and policymakers across Europe to co-develop microcredentials in cybersecurity, robotics, and ethical AI. Our open, modular structure makes high-quality training accessible, scalable, and impactful.

🌍 SPECTRO isn’t just a project — it’s a pan-European effort to future-proof the digital workforce.

RSA2025 reminded us: to defend the future, we must educate it.
