EAC EMPOWER Impact Series – Session 1: Finding Your Voice & Presence
September 22, 2026 EA Editor

The materials for the first session of the EAC EMPOWER Impact Series are now available.

Taking place on 24 September 2026, Finding Your Voice & Presence is an interactive HATE-LESS Train-the-Trainer session for facilitators, educators, youth workers, trainers and peer leaders. It focuses on inner Resistance and the conditions that can help people feel safe enough to speak, experiment, make mistakes and act on something meaningful.

Participants can now preview the session through its Learning Path & Timeplan, visit the course page on ICARUS, and explore the first handout.

Inside the Session 1 Learning Path

The 90-minute session follows seven steps, beginning with a guided visualization focused on safety, grounding, and the courage to act. Participants will recall moments when they felt safe, consider a time when they acted despite fear or hesitation, and imagine a future step toward something that matters to them.

The theory section introduces Steven Pressfield’s concept of Inner Resistance, including how fear, self-doubt, and procrastination can prevent meaningful action. Participants will also examine the distinction between hierarchy and territory, considering how acting according to personal meaning rather than external approval can support participation.

The practical section invites participants to complete two exercises:

  • Finding My Territory: identifying an activity that genuinely matters without relying on recognition, comparison, or approval.
  • Creating My Safe Space: defining the place, objects, tools, rituals and atmosphere that can support action.

Participants will then use the FLOW framework to prepare a short participatory video message:

  • Face: Identify the fear, doubt, or Resistance that can hold us back.
  • Let Go: Consider what can help us feel safe or prepared enough to begin.
  • Own: Take responsibility for acting, even without feeling completely ready.
  • Welcome: Create conditions in which people feel able to try, learn, speak, and participate.

The session concludes with video sharing, reflection, an anonymous evaluation, and resources for continuing the learning.
