Introducing Arty & the EAC EMPOWER Squad
Meet Arty – The Kind Shield, one of the seven characters in the EAC EMPOWER Squad. Inspired by Arthurian archetypes, these characters accompany participants through the EAC EMPOWER Impact Series, bringing its learning themes to life through stories and shared challenges.
Inspired by King Arthur, Arty represents the Sovereign archetype: leadership that brings people together and creates order, harmony, and balance. His values are kindness and strength, and his role is to protect without dominating. He guides us through Learning Cycle 1: Safe Space.
The Story: Arty and the Quiet Circle

To explore how we can make room for every voice heard in Learning Cycle 1: Safe Space, the EAC EMPOWER Impact Series presents its first animated short: ⚔️ Arty and the Quiet Circle | Learning Cycle 1: Safe Space | EAC EMPOWER.
Our 30-second animation opens with voices clashing around the Round Table. Arty responds by placing Excalibur upright in the ground. This gesture marks a protective boundary, giving the group space to pause and breathe.

As the noise settles, people begin to speak one by one. They share what concerns them and what they will carry together. The Quiet Circle becomes a space for listening, reflection, and shared responsibility, where quieter voices can return.

Arty’s boundary protects each person’s opportunity to participate. It makes room for people to speak without interruption, reflect without pressure, and listen with care.
The story describes this as protection becoming edification: safety and trust help people support one another, learn, and grow.
For the EAC EMPOWER Impact Series, this is the foundation of learning together. Our sessions invite participants to share experiences, explore challenges, and take responsibility for the space they create together. Arty reminds us that meaningful participation begins when people have both a place in the group and room to express themselves.
